Sad but true ...

Dear Friends,

There is no good way to say this - our building has sold and Scrapbook Connection will be closing. 

When we decided to put the building up for sale, we figured it would take 2-3 years to sell!  No such thing, there were a few interested buyers and it sold fairly quickly.  Although we do not have a definite closing date the anticipated time frame is mid-late March.  I will update you when I have an exact date.

Beginning immediately, I will be selling everything - supplies, fixtures, paper trays, spinning racks and more.  There are quite a few misc. items including file cabinets, tables, desks, and more.

I will be open:

Monday 3-6

Tues 11-3,

Wed & Thurs 3-6

Friday 3-6

Sat 10:30-2:30

Sun - I will post which Sundays and times as I know them.

The hardest part for me will not be the paper and bling but the friendship and sense of family from all of you over the last 6+ years.

Weekend in Lancaster, PA

It's been quite a few years since we visited Lancaster, PA.  I don't think we were in the downtown area, years ago, because all my pictures are more rural and I remember seeing many Amish people/farms.

This weekend we were there for one of Alicia's dance competitions and we stayed downtown.  It is a really cute town with great buildings.  We did a lot of walking and the weather was beautiful.   There was an indoor Farmer's Market that was wonderful with homemade, homegrown and very tasty food. 

On the way home, we were driving down the highway and saw tons of people and cars lining the highway with their chairs, coolers and lunch - waiting for something.  What would we do without the internet  - I searched and found out that Make a Wish does an annual (over 20 years) Mother's Day Truck Convoy - over 400 trucks proceeded down the highway and then there was a day of food and events.  I'm glad we drove by before the convoy and not during!  We did see many Amish families walking to the highway and sitting in the grass to watch.  We even saw some of the horses and buggies tied up under trees. For us, it was an amazing site to see.

So my Mother's Day treat (besides driving home from Lancaster - haha)  was to stop and get a delicious ice-cream in a waffle cone at this ice cream, bakery, and chocolate shop.  We were too full after the ice-cream to even think of anything else to eat!

I'm so glad we did not get any big snowstorm on Saturday and were able to spend the day cropping! 

Earlier this month Alicia made her confirmation and when I looked at the photos we took, I knew exactly how I wanted to make the Thank you notes.  We had an individual picture of her and our family members and the church sign was in the background.  I knew I was going to make picture cards.

I used WRMK Family Keepsakes paper that has crosses on them.  I added a little stickles to make the crosses pop.  On the inside I used my spellbinders die and stamped Thank You, added a little ribbon and my card was done.

Next crop I will work on my sister's wedding album!
